FIVE PBA PLAYERS ENTERS BUBBLE FOR FIBA WORLD QUALIFIERS
Northport star Robert Bolick led the PBA players that will be suiting up for the Gilas Pilipinas in the opening window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup qualifiers on February 24 to 28.
Poy Erram, Kelly Williams, Kib Montalbo, and Gab Banal are the TNT players joining the national team along with Bolick.
The five veteran players are among the players present in Monday’s media day when Gilas Pilipinas entered the bubble for the upcoming FIBA qualifiers. Further, they will be staying at Novotel Manila during the duration of the competition.
According to the report from Spin.ph, team manager Butch Antonio confirmed the absence of Gilas mainstay Jayson Castro and Carl Bryan Cruz in the 13-man team.
Troy Rosario, Ryan Reyes, Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, Brian Heruela, Glenn Khobuntin, Jjay Alejandro, and the injured Roger Pogoy were also not present in the 22-man pool.
The quintet joined pool members Thirdy Ravena, Dwight Ramos, Juan Gomez de Liano, Lebron Lopez, William Navarro, Jaydee Tungcab, Tzaddy Rangel, and naturalized center Ange Kouame.
Gilas will begin its campaign on the 24th against rival South Korea, followed by a match against India the following day, a match against New Zealand on the 27th, and a final match against South Korea on the 28th.
