MSU PROF WOUNDED IN AMBUSH, 2 ATTACKERS KILLED
A PROFESSOR of the Mindanao State University-Maguindanao survived an ambush attack in Datu Odin Sinsuat town, Cotabato last Tuesday, September 21, police said.
Lt. Col. Rommel de la Vega, the town police chief, said Daud Kadon was driving a Toyota Fortuner when two armed men on a motorbike fired upon him around 5 p.m.
De la Vega said Kadon exchanged fire with his assailants. He sustained a gunshot wound on the abdomen.
“The victim was hit but was able to draw his firearm and fired back at the suspects, also hitting them in the process,” De la Vega said.
The police chief identified the slain attackers as Montano Usman of Talitay town, Maguindanao, and Abdul Mama of Barangay Tamontaka, Datu Odin Sinsuat town.
Kadon and his assailants were taken to the hospital by police, but the two men were declared dead on arrival.
De la Vega said the incident is being investigated.
