The Teachers’ Dignity Coalition said that public schools do not have the budget to hire security guards.
TDC chairperson Benjo Basas said that it would be impractical to check the bags and pockets of students because public schools have such big populations.
Basas said that most of the schools in Metro Manila and other areas do not have security guards.
Basas said that many schools do not have guidance counselors because they resigned over unpaid wages.
