PRESUMPTIVE Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio is ready to take on the task of secretary of the Department of Education.

“I am just waiting for the proclamation of winners in Congress and the transition. By June 30, I am ready to rumble,” Duterte-Carpio said.

The new vice president said she’s happy that presumptive President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. entrusted him the position.

“We were both excited because educating our young people is very important for the progress and development of our nation,” she added.

She also said that one of Marcos’ priorities is education.

Education Secretary Leonor Briones earlier said she and the DepEd  were looking forward to working for a smooth transition at the department with  Duterte-Carpio.

Briones said the DepEd would be in “able hands” under Duterte-Carpio.
