MALABON BOOSTS SUPPORT FOR CICL THROUGH JUVENILE JUSTICE PROGRAM

/ 4 October 2026

MALABON City has strengthened its community-based support for children in conflict with the law (CICL) through an advocacy orientation on Republic Act 9344, or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act, for CICL and their parents.

Led by Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, the activity also featured the graduation of five CICL who successfully completed the city’s After-Care Program.

Sandoval said the activities form part of Malabon’s continuing community-based program to provide guidance, knowledge and support to young people under the program, as well as their parents and families.

The city government also continues to monitor and conduct follow-ups with CICL to help ensure their successful return to community life.

Sandoval emphasized the importance of sustained support, family involvement and community participation in helping young people stay on a positive path and avoid repeating offenses.

The graduation of the five CICL marked a milestone in their rehabilitation journey, highlighting the importance of guidance, support and opportunities in helping them rebuild their lives and work toward a better future.

The city government said it will continue implementing community-based interventions for CICL as part of its efforts to support their rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.
