NEW LAWS ESTABLISH INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS ACROSS ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE
PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has signed several laws that will separate various school extensions and convert them into independent institutions.
These new laws aim to enhance the educational system in specific areas of Zamboanga Del Sur and Zamboanga Del Norte.
Under Republic Act No. 12057, the Paulino Dari National High School–Balong-balong Extension in Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur, will be separated from the parent school and established as an independent institution. It will be renamed Balong-balong National High School.
In a similar move, Republic Act No. 12058 mandates the separation of the Bacungan National High School–Sipakong Extension in Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga Del Norte. The extension will now be known as Sipakong National High School.
Additionally, Republic Act No. 12059 provides for the separation of the Lapuyan National High School–Sampang Extension in Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur. The extension will be renamed Pampang National High School.
These newly established schools will absorb all personnel, assets, liabilities, and records from their respective parent institutions, as stipulated by the new laws.
In response, the President has directed the Department of Education to include the operationalization of these schools in its programs, ensuring their smooth transition and continued educational service.
“Sa pamamagitan ng mga bagong batas na ito, layon natin mapabuti ang edukasyon sa mga lugar na ito at matulungan ang mga mag-aaral na makapag-aral sa kanilang sariling komunidad,” President Marcos emphasized.
