KABATAAN Party-list Representative Raoul Manuel filed a resolution calling on members of the House of Representatives and the proper committees to review the K to 12 program.

In filing House Resolution 13, Manuel said that the K to 12 program has proven to be ineffective in reversing the nation’s decreasing educational standards and merely caused additional problems instead of resolving the nation’s education woes.

“The K to 12 program has experimented with and overburdened the youth; not only did it extend the schooling by two years, but it also imposed additional fees on students along its implementation,” Manuel said.

He added that students were left with the broken promise of employment after graduation from senior high school.

“After eight years, it is high time for a review to assess objectively its impact on students, parents, teachers and the entire education system. Findings will be crucial in forwarding policies to ensure safe, accessible and quality education for all,” Manuel said.
