DEPED ISSUES ORDER PROMOTING TRANSPARENCY
THE DEPARTMENT of Education has issued the revised signing authorities for administrative and financial matters in a bid to promote transparency and accountability.
Education Secretary Leonor Briones said the policy “will promote integrity and accountability in government service, foster proper management of public affairs and public property, establish practices aimed at the efficient turnaround in the delivery of government services, and prevent graft and corruption.”
She said that it is in pursuant with the provisions of Republic Act 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
This law promotes transparency in government transactions and the adoption of simplified requirements and procedures to cut red tape.
The revision of these policies, the DepEd said, will address challenges in administrative and financial operations. It will rationalize the delineation of responsibilities in DepEd by enhancing the structure for delegation of authority and ensures the standard implementation of rules and processes as part of the financial management and procurement reform initiatives of the department.
