CSC RECOGNIZES SLSU FOR COVID19 INITIATIVES

/ 2 October 2021

THE CIVIL Service Commission recognized the Southern Leyte State University for its “unrelenting effort and extraordinary services” to help address the pandemic.

The CSC lauded the university during a virtual appreciation program to honor government frontliners who helped mitigate the effects of the health crisis.

To help ease the pandemic’s impact on communities, the school created SLSU Unified, Proactive, and Progressive Response Extension Support Services for Covid19 in collaboration with local and provincial government units in Southern Leyte.

At the start of the pandemic, community needs for emerging infectious disease management were identified in collaboration with the provincial and municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices and the national and local Inter-Agency Task Forces.

SUPPRESS aims to develop and produce technologies and innovations that will enable institutions and communities to take enhanced preventive measures against the Covid19 pandemic.

The university also provided personal protective equipment for frontline personnel,  food and psychosocial counseling to students and other members of the community hit hard by the pandemic.
