/ 25 November 2022

THE PHILIPPINE National Police Special Action Force added 116 more commandos to its elite corps after they completed the grueling 6-month Commando Course.

PNP chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. was the guest speaker during the closing ceremony held on November 21, 2022 at the 83rd Infantry Battalion Headquarters in Brgy. Mabalodbalod, Tigaon, Camarines Sur.

“Let me be the first to remind you that you made the right choice to join the Commando Course or any of the foundation courses of SAF. Whether commando is your end or the means to achieve your goal, earning the coveted black beret is all worth it. Commando Course has provided you with the skills, technical-know-how, realistic scenarios, fieldcraft, equipment and leadership traits”, Azurin said.

The new commandos will be assigned to various line battalions to fight lawless elements, insurgents and terrorist groups.

The new graduates and the PNP chief were granted the authority to wear the SAF Black Beret, SAF Operational Badge and Commando Tab during the ceremony as a symbol of belonging to the elite circle of SAF Commandos.

Azurin commended SAF Director PBGen Edgar Alan Okubo for his dedication and perserverance in cascading the national policy on capability enhancement by training SAF troopers.

“I would like also to congratulate the Police Regional Office 5 and the Armed Forces of the Philippines for the milestone they have achieved by dismantling 7 guerilla fronts in the region” Azurin said.

SAF Commando Class 113-2021 is also known as the ADMIRALS or Alliance of the Defender of Mother Land Imbued with Respect for the Almighty, Love Of Country and Selfless services.

“Bagama’t ang ADMIRALS ay dumaan sa isang rigorous training, remember, we are at the mercy of orders, rules and regulations according to the law. Kayo ay inaasahan na maging disiplinado at mabuting ehemplo sa kapwa pulis at sa ating mga kababayan,” Azurin said.
