A SENIOR student from the University of the Philippines High School in Iloilo bagged the Distinction Gold Award in the Asia Pacific Arts Festival held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Grade 8 student Ayanna Fuerte won the award in the Junior Solo Category-Dance.

A total of 116 participants from nine countries took part in various competitions.

Fuerte represented PCD School of Performing Arts.

“PCD School of Performing Arts also won the Distinction Gold Award for the Senior Group Category – Dance, which was performed by 11 dancers,” UPV said.

“The dance school ranked first runner up overall, taking home a total of two golds, three Distinction Gold Awards, and Top 3 and Top 2 overall performances,” it added.

The Asia Pacific Arts Festival provides artists with a platform where they can showcase their talents and love for dance and music.

Participants also get an opportunity to learn from well-known trainers through workshops and meet fellow art lovers from various parts of the world.
