UPD ASKS FACULTY TO EXTEND CONSIDERATION TO STUDENTS ON MAY 13 DUE TO ELECTION-RELATED TRAVEL
THE UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Diliman has requested faculty members to extend consideration to students who may be absent on May 13 due to travel related to the national elections.
The announcement was made via UPD’s official Facebook page.
“In light of the national elections scheduled on Monday, May 12, faculty members are requested to extend consideration to students who may be absent from class on Tuesday, May 13, due to election-related travel,” the announcement read.
“The discretion to shift to alternative modes of learning remains with the faculty, as the semester is ending and face-to-face activities may no longer be avoided or deferred at this time,” it added.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has declared Monday, May 12, 2025, a special (non-working) holiday to allow citizens to properly exercise their right to vote.
