THE Sorsogon State University received a total of P2.3 million for the students’ scholarship grants.

The funding came from the office of Senator Loren Legarda, under its Tulong Dunong Program for State Universities and Colleges.

A total of P1.3 million was transferred in December and P1 million was transferred last week, to be distributed as financial assistance to students.

SorSU said the amount will be distributed to 174 students of the university, selected and chosen from its total of 17,000 students.

The university also aired its gratitude to Legarda’s office, noting that her continuous support has been helpful to the university and its students.

“Truly, Senator Legarda’s continued expression of support is instrumental to the welfare and holistic development of the SorSUeños, and has significantly created a lasting contribution to the academic ventures of our student-beneficiaries,” SorSU said on Facebook.
