/ 19 March 2025

THE Polytechnic University of the Philippines maintained its 14th position out of 229 universities in the country, according to EduRank’s 2025 rankings released earlier this month.

PUP also ranked 2,022nd out of 5,840 universities in Asia, 5,516th out of 14,131 globally, and 3,200th in the field of Communications and Public Relations.

EduRank is an independent, metric-based ranking organization that evaluates universities worldwide based on research publications, citations, non-academic reputation, and the impact of notable alumni.

PUP’s strong ranking is attributed to its 984 academic publications, 2,391 citations, robust non-academic reputation, and the prominence of its 15 notable alumni.

The university also placed 5,150th out of 32,000 higher education institutions globally in the Webometrics January 2025 ranking, which measures online visibility and impact using bibliometric and webometric indicators.

“With these recognitions, alongside recent accolades from the Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings 2025, the 2024 World University Rankings for Innovation, and the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, PUP continues to be recognized as one of the leading higher education institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines,” the statement said.

“It increases the visibility and reputation of the institution, fostering competition and innovation. This is a testament to PUP’s commitment to becoming a globally excellent institution and a leading polytechnic university in Asia,” it added.
