NUEVA VIZCAYA STATE U UNVEILS INDIGENOUS PEOPLE’S DORMITORY
THE NUEVA Vizcaya State University Bayombong Campus unveiled its new dormitory which will house indigenous students.
The IP dorm is a two-story building with 10 rooms. Each room has four double-decker beds and two bedrooms were allotted for those with disabilities. It has a total of 86 beds, a study room, kitchen and an administrator’s office.
The project costs P20 million.
The project is a joint initiative of NVSU, National Housing Authority and the Local Government Unit of Bayombong.
Governor Carlos Padilla said that the dormitory is expected to reduce the students’ expenses by 50 to 60 percent which were previously alloted for lodging.
“Kahit papaano mababawasan ang malaking gastusin ng mga estudyante especially our IP students who will be able to avail of the services of the dormitory. Alam naman natin na kahit libre ang matriculation fee, ang pinakamabigat ay ang board and lodging. Kaya I am sure ang ating mga IP students would greatly appreciate the putting up of this dormitory,” Padilla said.
