MARCOS BRINGS HEALTH, NUTRITION SERVICES TO PANGASINAN SCHOOL
PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. visited Sta. Barbara Central School in Pangasinan on Thursday to bring health and nutrition services closer to students, teachers and members of the school community.
Marcos joined the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) in the YAKAP Caravan, which provided free medical services to beneficiaries at the school.
During his visit, Marcos also checked the implementation of the School-Based Feeding Program, which currently provides nutritional support to 385 learners at Sta. Barbara Central School.
DepEd Undersecretary Fatima Lipp Panontongan joined the activity, along with PhilHealth President and CEO Dr. Beverly Ho, Pangasinan Gov. Ramon V. Guico III, Sta. Barbara Mayor Carlito Santiago Zaplan, representatives of partner organizations and other DepEd officials.
The activity highlighted government efforts to provide health and nutrition support to learners and the wider school community.
