PALACE: CLASS SUSPENSION GUIDELINES BEING FAST-TRACKED

/ 18 September 2026

PALACE Press Officer Claire Castro said guidelines on the suspension and resumption of classes are being expedited to ensure clearer and more timely announcements amid unpredictable weather conditions.

She said the proposed guidelines are being carefully reviewed and harmonized to clarify the respective roles of local government units (LGUs) and the Department of Education (DepEd).

Castro emphasized the need to refine the guidelines to minimize the adverse effects of sudden weather changes on students and their parents.

The proposed system also seeks to clearly define the roles of LGUs and DepEd in announcing class suspensions or resumptions.
