DEPED, DOH LAUNCH NEW CAMPAIGN TO COMBAT DENGUE

/ 25 June 2025

THE DEPARTMENT of Education and the Department of Health  have launched a new campaign to combat dengue in schools.

Initiated this June, the campaign aims to raise awareness about dengue and introduces the theme “Taob, Taktak, Tuyo, Takip” or “4T” (overturn, shake, dry, cover) under the broader “Alas Kwatro Kontra Mosquito” program.

The ‘4T’ campaign urges communities, schools, and households to clean up stagnant water in containers daily at 4 p.m. to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds.

“This is a campaign by the DOH to reduce and manage dengue cases in the Philippines,” said Tina Marasigan, Director of the DOH Health Promotion Bureau.

She noted that the department is intensifying its efforts in anticipation of a seasonal rise in dengue cases.

“The Department of Health is further strengthening its campaign to better manage the expected increase in dengue cases as we have now entered the rainy season,” Marasigan added.
