SENATOR ASSURES CONTINUOUS SUPPORT FOR YOUNG ATHLETES

/ 8 April 2025

SENATE Committee on Sports and Youth chairman Senator Christopher “Bong” Go reaffirmed his steadfast support for Filipino athletes and the youth during the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Private Schools Athletic Association Games in Tuguegarao City.

Go stressed the importance of investing in grassroots sports development as a means of steering the youth away from illegal drugs while enhancing the country’s athletic potential.

He underscored the value of grassroots tournaments in building discipline, mental resilience, and physical fitness among the youth—traits that can help elevate them to international sports platforms.

Calling on young Filipinos to embrace sports as a shield against drugs and crime, Go delivered his trademark message:

“Get into sports, stay away from drugs to keep us healthy and fit. And when we are physically fit, we are healthy.”

Go encouraged young athletes to keep striving and aim for greatness, believing in the limitless potential of the Filipino youth.
