THE PASIG City local government will implement shortened class hours starting March 10 due to the high heat index.

According to the Pasig City Government, the decision was based on a consensus reached with the city’s school heads and the Schools Division Office.

“Ayon sa konsensus mula sa school heads at Schools Division Office ng Pasig, ang rekomendasyon para sa Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Pasig ay ang pagpapatupad ng mga sumusunod na mitigating measures sa mga pampublikong elementary at secondary schools (Kinder to Grade 12), kabilang ang mga nasa Alternative Learning System, kaugnay ng nararanasang mataas na heat index,” the LGU stated.

This measure will apply to all public elementary and secondary schools, including those under the Alternative Learning System.

The local government also clarified that announcements regarding the specific details of the shortened class hours will come directly from the respective school principals.

For private schools, the decision to implement shortened class hours will be left to the discretion of their respective administrators.
