MORE than 5,000 students of Alternative Learning System from different schools in Manila held their graduation ceremony at the San Andres Sports Complex on August 10.

Division of City Schools Superintendent Rita Riddle, DepEd National Capital Region Director Wilfredo Cabral and ALS Officer-in-Charge Lea Faa led the ceremony.

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan congratulated the students of the city during the 50th commencement exercises of the Division of City Schools.

DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio also lauded the graduates, including out-of-school youth and adults, for their perseverance.

“Have the courage to pursue your dreams,” she told graduates.

“Never let go of your dreams. Habang bumabyahe kayo sa buhay, lagi niyong tatandaan – walang makakatalo sa kagustuhan ninyo, sa puso ninyo na magtagumpay sa buhay,” the Vice President added.
