ARBITRARY DECISIONS DELAYING STUDENTS’ GRADUATION ALARMS LAWMAKER

/ 26 July 2023

KABATAAN Party-list Representative Raoul Manuel expressed alarm over the decisions made by some universities that delayed the graduation of some students.

Based on the information received by Manuel, in the past week, 170 civil engineering students of the University of Manila became ineligible to graduate due to arbitrarily imposed failing grades in four subjects.

At the same time, 118 graduating University of the Philippines Diliman students were also threatened to be barred from graduation because they were not informed properly about some units they were supposed to take.

Manuel said similar reports have been made from other universities as well.
