SENATOR Imee Marcos filed a measure that seeks to convert the campus of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Parañaque City into a regular campus.

Senate Bill 2025 or the proposed Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Parañaque City Campus Act aims to resolve the funding concerns of the campus and enhance educational efficiency.

“Through the creation of this campus, students will have better and more accessible means to gain fresh, practical, knowledge and theoretical skills that can lead to subsistence, fostering independence and a thriving local and national economy,” Marcos said in her explanatory note.

Under the measure, the PUP-Parañaque City Campus shall offer short-term, technical, vocational, undergraduate and graduate courses within its areas of competency and specialization.

It will also undertake research and extension services and production activities in support of socio-economic development.
