TESDA BACKS DHSUD’s HOUSING PROGRAM
THE TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority backed the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development’s “Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino” program.
TESDA Director General Danilo Cruz said that the construction sector is among the priorities of TESDA when it comes to scholarships.
“TESDA is one with the Housing Department and other government agencies in developing and enhancing the skills of workers in the housing industry,” Cruz said.
TESDA produced 60,223 graduates in the construction sector in 2022. Also, 76,134 workers were certified as skilled in their respective courses.
Aside from the regular training courses, TESDA has integrated Plumbing NC II and Photovoltaic Systems Installation NC II in the TESDA Online Program. The TOP is a web-based platform that provides an effective and efficient way to deliver TVET at the learner’s place and time.
“We commit to continue providing construction-related programs and partner with the industries to ensure that TESDA construction-related courses are at par with international standards,” Cruz said.
The DHSUD earlier said that demand for construction workers will increase as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr’s. “Pambansang Pabahay” will go full blast soon.
The housing project was launched on December 21 in Nueva Ecija.
