MORE LGUs SUSPEND CLASSES
SEVERAL local government units still reeling from the onslaught of Severe Tropical Paeng suspended classes this week.
Antique Governor Rhodora Cadiao signed an executive order declaring the cancellation of face-to-face classes in all levels in both public and private schools.
“Some schools in our province during this trying time serve as temporary evacuation sites of the affected families of Typhoon Paeng,” Cadiao said.
Classes in the province will resume on November 7.
Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez also suspended classes until November 5.
“Magtulungan po tayo para makabangon ang ating lalawigan,” Ramil wrote on Facebook.
Other LGUs that suspended classes are the following:
• Cotabato City: all levels, public and private, from November 2 to 5
• Vigan City: all levels, public, November 2
• Cagayan
– Solana: all levels, public and private, November 2
– Enrile: all levels, public and private, November 2
o Gattaran: all levels, public and private, November 2
– Lal-lo: all levels, public and private, November 2
– Amulung: elementary to senior high school, public and private; until November 3
– Tuguegarao City: all levels, public and private; until November 03
– Aparri, all levels, public, November 2.
Based on the latest data from National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the death toll due to ‘Paeng’ has climbed to 121 as of Wednesday.
At least 103 people were injured and 36 were reported missing.
