CLASSES in some areas in Cagayan Valley which were affected by Tropical Depression Maymay were suspended on Tuesday.

These areas included the towns of Aparri, Lal-lo, Buguey, Camalaniugan, Sanchez Mira, Allacapan, Sto. Niño, Gattaran and Claveria.

In the towns of Ballesteros and Gonzaga, classes from pre-school to senior high school were suspended while in Pamplona town there were no classes in preschool to elementary.

The weather bureau raised Signal Number 1 in General Nakar and Infanta, Aurora, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Quezon and Polillo Islands.

“Maymay” is expected to make landfall on Wednesday.
