THE TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority encouraged overseas Filipino workers to enroll in its free online training and livelihood courses.

During the K-Skills Competition last August 28, Deputy Director General Aniceto Bertiz III urged Filipinos abroad to avail of the free 150 TESDA Online Program courses that are useful in re-tooling, upskilling and reskilling of OFWs that provides training and livelihood programs for their families.

“Through these programs, we aim to prepare our Filipino workers – wherever they are – to become highly-skilled and globally-competitive, and who can adapt to the ever-changing demand of the industry,” he said.

“Our OFWs are among TESDA’s top clients. Kasama nyo ang TESDA sa pagpapalalim ng ating kaalaman, sa paghuhubog ng kasanayan, at sa pagpapalago ng inyong kabuhayan. Kaisa ninyo angTESDA sa inyong mga pangarap sa buhay,” he added.

TESDA, together with its partner agencies and the private sector, has other programs for OFWs which include the OFW Reintegration for Skills Employment.

Bertiz lauded the PEAK Pinoy Program, or the Promoting Entrepreneurship and Agri-business to OFWs in South Korea, which aims to provide entrepreneurship and agribusiness seminars for Filipinos in Korea.

“I assure you of our support in all your efforts at improving technical vocational skills, especially for our OFWs and their families,” he said.
