LORMA COLLEGES TO INVESTIGATE NURSING STUDENT’S FAILURE TO MARCH IN GRADUATION RITES
LORMA Colleges was both saddened and concerned after a student was barred from marching during its graduation ceremony.
Nursing graduate John Marcelino Rosaldo was not allowed to march and receive his diploma due to unprocessed graduation fees.
While the fees have been paid prior to the ceremony after the family settled the payment, Rosaldo was still barred from marching even if he’s already wearing his toga.
The school said it will conduct an investigation and will get in touch with the Rosaldo family.
“We sympathize with the family and are currently trying to get in touch with him (Rosaldo) and/or the family to discuss and investigate what exactly happened to ensure that this type of incident does not happen again,” the school said in a statement.
The incident sparked criticism against the school after a viral Tiktok video narrated the student’s experience.
The graduation ceremony was held last June 23.
