AFP CHIEF MEETS INDIA NATIONAL COLLEGE CHIEF AND STUDENTS
GENERAL Andres Centino, chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, on Monday met with Major General Manoj Kumar, other senior staff and students of India’s National Defense College.
The meeting is part of a study tour aimed at providing the delegates, which included students from Sri Lanka, Uganda, Australia, Iran and Uzbekistan, with an overview of the country’s socio-economic development, foreign policy and security issues.
The delegates also visited the National Defense College of the Philippines and will tour the headquarters of the Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force and Philippine Navy on June 7.
Centino expressed his appreciation for the continued cooperation between the AFP and the Indian Armed Forces and proposed to strengthen their relationship.
He invited the Indian Defense Force to send military personnel to undergo professional military education in the AFP through the Command and General Staff College.
The AFP and Indian Defense Force have an agreement focused on military cooperation, defense and technology cooperation, high-level visits and training.
Since 2018, the AFP has sent 38 military personnel to India to undergo trainings and attend seminars related to peacekeeping, professional military education, defense management, training design and management and instruction.
