THE EASTERN Samar State University has received P1 million from the Commission on Higher Education for its community development project.
ESSU said that its Community Empowerment through Science and Technology program aims to provide livelihood and alleviate poverty in remote communities.
The beneficiaries are the poor residents of Borongan, Samar who were greatly affected by the pandemic.
The DOST said that under the program, technology-based livelihood projects will be transferred to identified communities.
“This will also facilitate the transfer of technologies to beneficiaries along the areas of education, health and nutrition, water and sanitation, disaster risk reduction, and industry development or livelihood,” it said.
