MAKE-UP REVIEW: HOW COLOURETTE UPS ITS VERSATILITY AND USABILITY IN THE MAKEUP GAME

Colourette Cosmetics and its cult-favorites, the Colourtint and Coloursnap have long since made it to the center of today's local beauty scene. Here’s why.

Versatility is the name of the game.

Multi-use makeup products have become a staple in every collection for a number of reasons: you can recreate different looks using only one product, which means that you don’t have to break the bank to switch your look from everyday MOTD to glam night sesh. Plus, it also saves space in your make up kit.

In this review, we will feature Colourette Cosmetics and its cult-favorites: the Colourtint and Coloursnap–two of its game-changing multi-use products that made it to the center of today’s local beauty scene.

The Colourtint

Colourtint is a multi-use, oil-based tint that can be used on the eyes, cheeks, and lips. A definite must-have in your kit especially if you are the ‘on-the-go’ type or if you just love to create different monochromatic looks.

Packaging

This is actually a revamped version of the Colourtint line and along with this reformulation is the new and improved packaging as well, which is more user- and travel-friendly than the previous one.

For one, we all love how the Colourtint was remodeled from the nail polish bottle profile into a classic liquid lipstick presentation featuring a 12ml glass tube with doe foot applicator and a wiper to clear away excess product and prevent spills. Another nifty feature is the built-in metal ball inside the tube to ensure that the product is always smooth and well-blended.

Pigmentation

The Colourtint line has two variations: matte, and the other one is fresh, which is a more lightweight lip tint.

Since Colourtint is oil-based, the pigment tends to separate from its base, that’s why you have to ‘shake it up really good’ before using the product for best results. It has a thin consistency, but the pigmentation is really impressive, where one swipe is all you need and you’re good to go.

The main difference between the matte variants and the fresh ones is that the matte tints dry down to a soft matte finish while the fresh tints are more like a stain on the lips. Note however, that the finish of the matte tints is not a flat, drying matte. That’s why it’s still very comfortable to wear every day and it’s also easy to apply.

When used on the cheeks and the lids, the product blends easily and finishes smoothly. Colourtint stays true to its color, perfect for achieving that subtle, monochrome look.

Longevity

This product line does not claim to be 100% transfer proof but with an oil base for a lip color, it surprisingly stays on for hours.

Shades

Colourtint is popular for its wide shade range that specially caters to the Filipina skin tone. With 35 flattering and wearable shades to choose from, you will definitely find the shade that will match your style.

Some of the shades available are:

Zola – universally flattering terracotta

Bree – muted rosy terracotta

Lola – rosy coral

Bambi – red orange

Celeste – everyday plum

Robin – chocolate brown

At the price of Php299 for a 12ml tube, with premium performance and variety of shades available, this is definitely a must-have in your make up collection.

Coloursnap

Coloursnap is a multi-use tinted balm that can be used in three ways. Its versatile formula allows you to lightly color your lips, cheeks, and lids–leaving a subtle dewy finish.

Just like the Colourtint, the Coloursnap line is a reformulated version which is apparently more pigmented and nourishing as it contains castor oil to soothe and protect the lips from losing moisture.

Packaging

The Coloursnap retains its compact tin packaging that you can effortlessly slide into your purse or pocket. It’s very lightweight and practical to use which makes for a great travel companion.

Pigmentation

This cream balm boasts of an ultra-pigmented, blendable formula. It has a dewy, but not oily finish so even those with oily skin can also use this comfortably. The shade Milk however, which is a bright coral pink, is a tad bit light for morena skin tone, so it needs to be slightly built up for the color to show.

Because of its cream formula, the Coloursnap instantly pops when used on the lids and cheeks. It’s also moisturizing and nourishing which makes it a suitable pick for those with dry to combination skin.

Longevity

Normally, moisturizing balms tend to fade after a few hours of use but the Coloursnap is different. Its breakthrough formula allows it to last while sitting comfortably on your lips, cheeks and lids the entire day and yes, it still leaves a stain even after drinking or washing the face.

Shades

Unlike the Colourtint with a wide variety of shades, Coloursnap has a total of eight beautiful, bright shades that are perfect for the summer. These shades include:

Hunny – candy apple

Milk – bright coral pink

100 – popsicle red

Coloursnap retails for Php299 for a 12ml tub.
