EASING IN TO THE ‘NEW NORMAL’? HERE’S WHERE TO GET YOURSELF TESTED FIRST FOR YOUR PEACE OF MIND

While it’s clear people still want to travel or need to go out for essential matters after being on lockdown, many want to do so in a safe way, especially now that we’re all easing into that ‘new normal’ life.

Questions and concerns surrounding mobility during the coronavirus pandemic have run the range from ‘Is it safe?’ to ‘Where can I get a PCR test?’ While it’s clear people still want to travel or need to go out for essential matters after being on lockdown, many want to do so in a safe way, especially now that we’re all easing into that ‘new normal’ life.

Testing has become the standard procedure to prevent the entry of a carrier of the virus into the country, cities, and even in special events. It’s the same strategy to prevent the spread of the virus in smaller communities. Although testing would not be the only factor to stop the pandemic, it gives information on where the infections are coming from, and it will provide medical authorities the opportunity to track and interrupt the transmission of the disease.

Now that slowly, movement in many areas, especially in Metro Manila, can already be seen, be it for work or home errands, or those who just want to badly go out after months in lockdown, it is always better to get yourself on the safer side of things. Getting yourself tested, for many purposes, is the first step to know for yourself, your loved ones and the people you interact with. But remember, staying home is, and will always be the most advised step to prevent the risk of getting infected.

PCR tests for the coronavirus in Metro Manila private hospitals and facilities range from P4,000 to P13,000, depending on the turnaround time for results. Some of the hospitals and facilities’ prices indicated are subject to change without prior notice.
