After a two-year hiatus, Tina Salak is set to return on the court and see action with Chery Tiggo for the upcoming 2021 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference debut.

Salak decided to hang her jersey for good back in 2018 yet head coach Aaron Velez affirmed that the decorated setter decided to continue her journey with Tiggo.

“It’s really an honor and privilege to coach the legendary Tina Salak. I didn’t expect it at all. The decision to include her in the roster was sudden but a good decision, I would say,” said Velez.

The two-time V-league champion is set to fill the void that will be left by the Laure sisters Eya and EJ after deciding on sitting out on the bubble conference.

Salak being the veteran playmaker was also expected to bring her years of experience of coaching and playing in the squad.

“It’s going to be a challenging role for Tina, because she’ll coach and play at the same time. Her experience is a given, but to witness her talent and leadership is exceptional and inspiring,” Velez stressed.

PVL games will be held at the PCV Socio-Civic and Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte where Chery Tiggo will face PLDT on Saturday at 1 pm.
