PH CURLING TEAM MAKES HISTORY, WINNING COUNTRY’S FIRST-EVER GOLD IN THE 9TH ASIAN WINTER GAMES IN CHINA
THE PHILIPPINE national men’s curling team made history on Friday (14 Feb 2025) by securing the country’s first-ever gold medal at the 9th Asian Winter Games.
In the gold medal match, the Filipino team, composed of Marc Angelo Pfister, Alan Beat Frei, Christian Patrick Haller, Enrico Gabriel Pfister, and Benjo Delarmente, defeated South Korea with a score of 5-3.
The national team displayed great resilience and skill, especially when the Koreans started to stage a comeback in the final stages of the game. In the eighth end, the Philippines scored two points to maintain their lead and secure the gold medal.
