FILIPINO TEENAGER JOINS NBA ACADEMY WOMEN’S VIRTUAL PROGRAM
Filipino teenager has been selected to participate in the NBA Academy Women's Virtual Program—making her the league's only player from the country to do so.
Camille Nolasco will be joining the eight-week basketball and leadership development program for top female high school players, aged 14 to 17, outside of the United States.
Nolasco is one of 50 girls from throughout the world, and 10 from Asia Pacific.
The girls will be mentored by current and former WNBA players as well as NBA Academy professionals for the two months that they will get NBA education—from basketball to life skills.
There will also be sessions centered on leadership development, nutrition, goal setting, personal branding, mental health and wellness, player pathway education, and women’s empowerment.
