/ 3 October 2026

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday called for collective action among parents, teachers, communities, and the government to protect the health, safety, and well-being of Filipino students.

During his visit to Patul Elementary School in Santiago City, Isabela, Marcos said improving education goes beyond classroom instruction and must also include efforts to ensure that students are healthy, safe, and able to learn effectively.

The President highlighted school feeding programs and other health services designed to address students’ nutritional and health needs, as well as initiatives supporting the welfare of teachers and parents.

Marcos also urged parents and teachers to remain attentive to changes in young people’s behavior to help identify and address bullying, violence, and other threats to students’ safety in schools.

He emphasized that protecting students’ health and security is an essential part of improving education, enabling them to learn effectively and giving them greater opportunities for a better future.
