COACH TAB BALDWIN WANTS PBA PLAYERS IN GILAS; GUEST APPEARANCE IN PBA ‘STILL A POSSIBILITY’
Head coach Tab Baldwin shared that he still considering infusing PBA players to the young Gilas Pilipinas and appearing as a guest in the league can help the continuity of the team’s program.
“I really think that there’s a talent level in the PBA that if we have access to any number of players and have the time to bring them in, will certainly be an upgrade in our system,” said Baldwin in Noli Eala’s “Power and Play” program on Saturday.
“They (PBA players) will allow our younger players to take some of the pressure off of them and put them in a position where they could be students from the older and more experienced players. That’s the ideal program and it sort of rolls over in time,” he added.
Moreover, Tab affirmed that they take into heart what MVP says to them and that is the young gunners ‘need games.’
And taking the MVP’s advice, Tab shared that “PBA is certainly a potential possibility for us.”
He also averred that playing in pocket tournaments and going against the likes of Serbia, Germany, France, Estonia, and Argentina would be a better preparation yet for him ‘that’s the ideal world.’
“We don’t live in the ideal world. We live in our own world and we have to make the best with what we have,” he said.
