BLUE EAGLES’ TOLENTINO SHIFTS FULL TIME WITH CHOCO MUCHO, OFFICIALLY DEPARTS FROM ATENEO
Ateneo Volleyball star Kat Tolentino officially decided to end her collegiate career with the Blue Eagles and opted to shift professionally with Choco Mucho.
“Yes, I will be playing for Choco Mucho and have already committed to them,” Tolentino confirmed to SPIN Life.
“Considering that UAAP has been postponed the past two years, I’m sure I’m ineligible now. So, instead, I am looking forward to focusing on PVL and being a professional athlete,” she propounded.
The 6-foot-2 weapon of the Blue Eagles helped her team to claim the UAAP Season 81 championship crown where she bagged the Best Opposite Spiker of the same season.
After that, the opposite hitter opted to depart from Ateneo yet still chose to gun the roster in November 2019 and opted to sit for her final year of eligibility.
Nonetheless, things didn’t go as Tolentino had planned as Season 82 was halted sitting on a 1-1 record after beating UP and losing against their archrivals, DLSU Green Archers.
Awaiting for a back-to-back championship was even deprived and succeedingly the supposed last playing career for her which is the UAAP Season 83 was canceled.
“Well I didn’t really come to the decision myself. It was kind of decided for me,” said Tolentino.
Committing to Choco Mucho means applying for a pro license to participate inside the Calambubble in which entailed the Fil-Canadian of ineligibility to play for UAAP even more.
“So instead, I am looking forward to focusing on the PVL (Premier Volleyball League) and being a professional athlete,” she concluded.
