SOLAR COMPANY HIRES SHS GRADUATES
A SOLAR company hired Senior High School graduates to install energy systems in remote schools in the provinces of Bohol, Cebu and Palawan.
Solar System Philippines said it hired 12 Electrical Installation and Maintenance graduates.
The EIM graduates will install solar energy systems in 16 remote schools in Bohol and Cebu under the company’s Renewable Energy for Livelihood and Youth Project.
The company also hired EIM-Solar graduates from Palawan who will be tasked to install solar energy systems in six off-grid schools in Puerto Princesa City and San Vicente.
Vivant Foundation Executive Director Shem Jose Garcia said that they were grateful to help these students through the Project RELY.
“We’re proud of how we have helped the senior high school students. Through Project RELY, we’ve been able to expand our pilot project in Bantayan to other partner senior high schools in Daanbantayan (Cebu), Talibon (Bohol), and Puerto Princesa and Roxas (Palawan),” Garcia said.
“The upgrading of the EIM track will not only ensure the sustainability of the solar energization component of RELY, but will also provide opportunities for our youth to find employment in the energy of the future,” the executive director added.
EIM continues to be a skill requirement in the building business. EIM graduates are recognized by local and international businesses thanks to their National Certification from the Technical Education And Skills Development Authority.
