VICE President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio visited the Siquijor Integrated School to find out the problems confronting the school.

After sitting down with school principal Mitchie S. Frago and some teachers, Duterte-Carpio learned that classrooms, Alternative Learning System center, classrooms for Special Education students and covered gym are among the facilities that the school lack.

Duterte-Carpio vowed to discuss the problems with other DepEd officials.

“Nagpapasalamat tayo sa mga guro sa pangunguna ni Ginang Mitchie S. Frago, ang principal ng paaralan, sa kanilang pagtanggap sa atin upang mapag-usapan ang mga suliranin na kinakaharap ng Department of Education sa mga lugar tulad ng Siquijor,” she said.

Duterte-Carpio also joined the celebration of Siquijor’s 50th anniversary.

She called on residents to support each other and the local government.

“With the local government unit’s efforts to provide the people excellent public service, I am confident that you will be able to scale up the local economy into a resplendent, premium investment destination in this part of the Visayas,” she said.
