MBHTE TO TRAIN OVERSEAS WORKERS
THE MINISTRY of Basic, Higher and Technical Education-Technical Education and Skills Development said that it will provide free skills training to returning overseas workers in the Bangsamoro region.
The move came after the signing of a memorandum of agreement between the MBHTE and the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal and Labor Minister Romeo Sema signed the MOA in Cotabato City last July 13.
Under the agreement, qualified workers in the MOLE’s “Reintegration Program: Hanapbuhay for Bangsamoro Overseas Workers” will be required to undergo skills and training in Manpower Development Centers in the region.
Aside from the livelihood assistance amounting to P20,000, the program also aims to provide returning workers, who have no intention to work abroad, opportunities to be trained and oriented with basic entrepreneurial skills to start their own businesses.
Some of the common skills training that will be offered are Shielded Metal Arc Welding NCII, Bread and Pastry Production, Housekeeping, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Computer Systems Servicing, Language Courses and Driving NCII.
