FILIPINO TEACHER WINS PRINCESS MAHA CHAKRI AWARD

FOR his dedication and contribution to the education sector, a teacher from the Cordillera Region was among the recipients of the Princess Maha Chakri Award given by Thailand.

Marcelo Otinguey, Head Teacher V of the Governor Bado Dangwa Agro-Industrial School in Benguet, received the award given to commemorate Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s 60th birthday in Thailand.

The award recognizes outstanding teachers from Southeast Asia and Timor Leste.

It is bestowed on those who have made significant impact in students’ lives.

The Department of Education office in the Cordillera Administrative Region lauded Otinguey.

“SALUTE TO YOU SIR! DepEd CAR congratulates Mr. Marcelo T. Otinguey of the Schools Division of Benguet for winning this year’s Princess Maha Chakri International Award for Outstanding Teachers!” it said on Facebook.

The PMCA Foundation named Otinguey as among the outstanding teachers from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and Timor Leste “whose dedication and internationally recognized achievements have resulted in significant impact on the students’ lives and a better education system.”
