DICT INSTALLS FREE WIFI IN TWO ALBAY SCHOOLS
THE DEPARTMENT of Information and Communications Technology installed WiFi hotspots in two schools in Albay under its Free WiFi for All program.
The beneficiaries were the Bicol University-College of Agriculture and Forestry in Guinobatan, Albay and the Polangui Community College in Albay.
The DICT also installed WiFi in other public places such as the Puerto Princesa International Airport in Palawan, Labo District Hospital, and the Camarines Norte and San Vicente Municipal Hall.
“The DICT enables Filipinos to surmount the inequalities caused by the privilege of making digital opportunities accessible to all,” the agency said.
Through the provision of free internet connectivity, the department aims to accelerate government efforts in enhancing internet accessibility and bridge the digital divide.
The agency said more wifi sites will be activated in Region IV-B and Region V.
