SENATORIAL BET VOWS STEADY FUNDING, EXPANSION OF FREE COLLEGE LAW
FORMER Senator and independent senatorial candidate Bam Aquino assured students that the implementation of the Free College Law will remain uninterrupted and well-funded should he return to the Senate.
Speaking during a visit to Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) in Daet on Friday, Aquino pledged to protect and strengthen the landmark legislation he authored during his previous term.
“We will make sure that no one touches that law, that its funding increases, and that more young Filipinos benefit from it,” Aquino told students and faculty members.
He also emphasized that education should be paired with economic opportunity.
“When I return to the Senate, I will push not just for free college, but also for guaranteed jobs so our graduates can immediately support their families,” he added.
Aquino was joined by Camarines Norte Vice Governor Joseph Ascutia during the campus visit.
Since the passage of the Free College Law in 2017, nearly 10,000 students have graduated from CNSC campuses in Daet, Labo, Jose Panganiban, Mercedes, and Sta. Elena.
Currently, around 10,000 students are enrolled at CNSC for this academic year.
