SENATE Committee on Higher, Technical and Vocational Education chairman Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero on Saturday urged the country’s education agencies to base their decisions on science, research and thorough studies with regards to plans of changing the school calendar anew.
Escudero is reacting on calls to revert back to the old school calendar wherein classes start at June and vacation period covers April and May or the summer season.
“Anuman ang gawin ng Department of Education at Commission on Higher Education sana pag-aralan muna nila, planuhin nila at ipatupad nila,” Escudero said in an interview over DWIZ’s Usapang Senado Program.
The senator said consistency and sustainability are important factors in making and implementing any decision or order.
