HOUSE PANEL OKS CHARTER FOR NAT’L AVIATION ACADEMY OF THE PHILS
THE COMMITTEE on Higher and Technical Education at the House of Representatives approved the measure that will formulate a charter for the National Aviation Academy of the Philippines.
The panel headed by Baguio City Representative Mark Go agreed to endorse for plenary deliberations House Bill 7323 or the proposed National Aviation Academy of the Philippines Charter.
The bill, authored by KABAYAN Party-list Rep. Ron Salo, seeks to declare the Philippine State College of Aeronautics as the national professional institution for aviation, and will change its name to the National Aviation Academy of the Philippines.
The NAAP is envisioned to be the government professional institution offering aeronautics and aviation-related education.
The panel also created a Technical Working Group to further discuss House Bills 6008, 6771 and 7120, which aim to establish colleges of medicine, particularly in Samar State University, Sultan Kudarat State University and Aklan State University.
Commission on Higher Education Chairperson Prospero De Vera III said the CHED does not object to the measures, provided that these comply with the standards required for public and private universities.
