HOUSE OKAYS BAGUIO CITY SPORTS HS BILL ON 2ND READING
THE HOUSE of Representatives has approved on second reading a bill that seeks to create the Baguio City Sports High School.
House Bill 10567, a substitute bill for House Bill 9386, mandates the creation of the sports school to be administered and supervised by the Department of Education, in close coordination with the Philippine Sports Commission.
The school shall accept students with considerable potential in sports.
The school curriculum will focus on the development of the athletic skills of students through subjects pertaining to physical education and sports.
Baguio City Rep. Mark Go said establishing a sports high school in Baguio City will open opportunities for young athletes in Northern Luzon.
Go said that training in high altitudes improve athletic performance.
