HOUSE ENDS DELIBERATIONS ON TESDA’S PROPOSED 2025 BUDGET
THE HOUSE of Representatives has concluded its deliberations on the proposed 2025 budget for TESDA, which stands at P18.7 billion.
Makati City Rep. Luis Campos Jr. sponsored the TESDA budget, while Camarines Sur Rep. Gabriel Bordado expressed concern over the 15.4% reduction in the funding for the Technical Education and Skills Development Program.
Bordado questioned how this budget cut would impact TESDP’s ability to meet its objectives in workforce development and skills training.
Campos acknowledged that the scholarship program for trainees would likely be the most affected by the budget cuts, urging Congress to reconsider.
Bordado echoed this sentiment, stressing the importance of maintaining the scholarship program to support the country’s workforce development. TESDA’s proposed P18.7 billion budget for 2025 is significantly lower than the P21.4 billion allocation it received for the current year.
