DESPITE the reopening of schools and the holding of physical classes, Education Secretary Leonor Briones said that online education will continue.
The Department if Education will continue to implement the blended learning approach, she said.
“We are not giving up on online education. We are not giving up on technology. So we still say that what we are instituting in the Philippines is the blend of face-to-face and technology,” Briones said.
“We have a lot of catching up to do, both in face-to-face where our children learn not only facts but also how to deal with each other, with their teachers, with their parents. Where we teach them what we now describe as good manners and right conduct,” she added.
She emphasized that Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics will be given emphasis to equip learners.
“We are not giving up on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and online because when our learners get out of school for work or for further education they will be in a world which is actually a blend of both face-to-face and technology,” the DepEd chief said.
