DEPED TO SHIFT TO BLENDED LEARNING IF COVID19 CASES IN SCHOOLS RISE

/ 20 August 2022

THE DEPARTMENT of Education said that schools will shift to blended learning if Covid19 cases will surge in a particular area.

DepEd Undersecretary for Field Operations Revsee Escobedo issued the clarification in answer to the query of Senator Robinhood ‘Robin’ Padilla if the department had a backup plan in the event that several students got infected with Covid19 during the resumption of face-to-face classes.

“Dito sa Senado, lahat may sinusunod na protocol. Natamaan pa rin kami. Ang tanong ko, anong backup plan? Halimbawa dumami ang kaso, tayo ba babalik sa online,” Padilla said during the organization meeting of the Senate Committee on Basic Education.

Escobedo assured the committee that protocols are in place to protect the health, safety and well-being of learners, teachers and other school staff.

He added that DepEd is prepared to shift to blended learning in case the number of Covid infections in a particular class or school rise.

Escobedo said that teachers have been reminded to ensure the health of learners.
